Betta Than Nutella Choc Spread

Serves: 1 cup|Prep: 5 min

Nut Free Gluten Free Dairy Free Vegetarian

Serves: 1 cup|Prep: 5 min

This moreish alternative to sugar-packed chocolate spreads can be used on your favorite bread, crackers or in muffin recipes either as a filling, as icing or to eat straight! You can also try it as a dip with fruit or veggie sticks.

Ingredients

Method

¼ cup of  carob powder
¼ cup of cacao powder
½ cup honey, maple syrup or rice syrup
¼ cup tahini
1 tbsp coconut oil
Filtered water
1. Place all ingredients in a medium-sized bowl, and using a hand held processor, blend until a smooth consistency is reached. If it is too thick, add a tbsp of water and keep adding until the desired consistency is reached.

Tip:
You can replace the tahini with other school-friendly seeds such as pumpkin and sunflower seeds. If you want to enjoy as an after-shool snack, then you can use ground roasted hazelnuts for a delicious nutty choc spread. If your children are used to sweet chocolate spreads, you can increase the sweetness by adding more maple syrup and over time reduce the amount of sweetness.
