Lamb Koftas

These little Lamb Koftas are perfect for children as they are high in zinc, protein and iron. Combining the ground lamb with the naturally sweet flavors of dates and carrots make them even more kid-friendly (not to mention nutritious), and the small sausage shapes make them easily picked up by little hands.

Ingredients

Method


1 lb Minced lamb
1 egg
1 leek, finely sliced
½ clove garlic
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp of mixed or Italian herbs
1 medium sized carrot, grated finely
2-3 soft medjool dates (optional)
Salt to taste
Coconut oil or organic olive oil
1. Place leek, carrot, date and garlic in food processor and blend until smooth.
2. Place meat in a medium sized bowl, add egg, cinnamon, herbs, salt and vegetables and process together.
3. Using your hands, shape the mixture into small sausage shapes.
4. Heat oil in medium fry pan and place sausages in the pan. Allow to cook on each side for approx. 5–8 min or until cooked through.

Tip:
Serve with homemade ketchup or tzatziki.
